Enspire UCSD January 2019

Enspire is the signature outreach event of UC San Diego’s Triton Engineering Student Council (TESC). January 2019 will be their 12th annual event. Enspire is well-known for being one of the largest STEM outreach events at UC San Diego. The purpose of Enspire is to provide middle school students a chance to come to UCSD for a full day of fun and engage in engineering activities. Middle school students will experience a college campus, interact with engineering students, participate in engineering activities, and learn about engineering majors and organizations. Enspire is a free event and they try to accommodate several classrooms from various local San Diego schools. Explore UCSD for a day of fun and engaging engineering activities.

2019 California Retired Teachers Association Scholarship

For graduating seniors planning to attend an accredited 4-year college/university in Fall 2019.  

Individual $2,000 scholarships will be awarded to students who:

·       Have a 3.2 or better GPA

·       Demonstrate leadership qualities

·       Participate in extracurricular activities

·       Have volunteer and/or work experience 

Scholarship checks are mailed to recipients after receipt of their full-time enrollment verifications.

AVID Students - apply for the Dell Scholarship by December 1!

The Michael & Susan Dell Foundation created the Dell Scholars program with the understanding that it takes more than financial help to support students to college graduation. From the start, Dell Scholars was designed as a college completion program that offers support services that go beyond a scholarship check. Today, the Dell Scholars program offers personalized, multifaceted support to Scholars that extends beyond the financial support of $20,000, a laptop, and textbook credits. They offer students and their families services and solutions to address individual and systemic issues that can create major barriers to student success.

National Hispanic College Fair - free busses for schools!

The National Hispanic College Fairs would like to extend a special invitation to high school juniors & seniors to participate in our Fall College and Career Fair on Friday, November 30, 2018, held at the University of San Diego Hahn Center from 9:30 AM – 12:30 PM. Many of the finest colleges, universities and trade schools will have representatives present to explain what programs and opportunities they have to offer students. FREE busses for schools! Minefaire, an Official Minecraft Community Event

Minefaire is coming to the San Diego Convention Center on Saturday, January 5th & Sunday, January 6th and they would love to invite students to participate at no charge under our Minefaire Agents Program!


As Minefaire Agents, students will have an opportunity to help out as volunteers, gaining a behind-the-scenes look at what is involved in producing such a massive event. They will also have an opportunity to experience the latest in video game tech, virtual reality, and meet celebrity Youtube personalities.

In addition, each student Agent will receive the following:

• FREE Admission to the event (when they are not volunteering, they will be able to enjoy the event)
• Volunteer/Community Service hours 
• Official Minefaire Agent t-shirt, badge/lanyard, an exclusive pin
• Catered lunch provided
• & up to 50% off all Minefaire merchandise

Freemont Foundation Scholarship

Applications are now being accepted for the Freemont Foundation Scholarship Program.

The James M. & Erma T. Freemont Foundation will award thousands of dollars in scholarships for the 2019-20 academic year to students with a record of leadership and volunteerism in the community and participation in extracurricular school activities.

The deadline is January 18, 2019.

Amazon Future Engineer Scholarship Program

Amazon Corporate LLC has established a scholarship program to assist high school seniors who are taking or have completed an advanced placement computer science course who plan to continue their education at an accredited four-year college or university majoring in computer science, software engineering, computer engineering or other computer related field of study.
